The Los Angeles Police Department has all but given up hope of ever closing the Dahlia case; the department has more urgent crimes to investigate, and the killer has likely been dead for years. Yet, it is precisely the unsolved status of Elizabeth Short's murder that gives it such an enduring allure.
Black Dahlia was an inspiring actress in her year but what made her very famous is her murder case. Her body was slashed into half and her face was laying up with dirt. Her face had been slashed from the corners of her mouth toward her ears, creating an effect known as a Glasgow smile. Her arms were raised over her head. The body appeared to have been washed clean of blood, and the intestines were tucked neatly under the buttocks. Her legs were widely spread. She also had multiple cuts on her thigh and breasts, where entire portions of flesh had been removed.
There are numerous suspects for the past years, but none of them was the true killer of the black dahlia. Some of the suspects are Robert Manley ---- the last person to see her alive, Mark Hansen a manager of a night club where Elizabeth is always her guest he always try to bed her but he is always unsuccessful, George Hodel who wrote a book about her, Jack Anderson Wilson, and Walter Bayley.
Up to now, the Black Dahlia murder case remains to be unsolved. As if great madness had gone in the hands of the of this gruesome murder.
